The L2 Approach

 

What’s the essence of L2?

L2 is an approach to learning which develops independent learners and thinkers. It can be delivered in discrete packages, across the school and community or as part of a radical strategy for cultural change.

 

L2 is based on sound learning principles, is well structured and easy to implement, gives you access to hundreds of the best quality resources and comes with transformational tools so you can begin to customise your programme.

 

Nearly 1,000 UK schools are using L2. They do so in any of three ways:

 

• L2 as a discrete teaching programme which develops independent learners and thinkers.
• L2 as a whole school approach to radically shift the quality of learning across your school
• L2 as a whole community technology to help raise expectations and improve relationships.

 

What comes with L2?

L2 consists of a learning programme for students, resources, electronic tools to support learning and a set of technologies for whole school and community engagement.

 

• L2 - the learning to learn programme includes 140 hours of classroom lessons which deliver key learning skills, develop independence and resolve and provide engaging challenges
• L2 – resources are the best of their kind and include books, posters, thinking cards, learning styles cards and our own favourite – Top Trumps for learners
• L2 - electronic tools include our student profilers, the learning wall, thinking tools and flash tools for classrooms
• L2 - technologies include our Parent Portal for your school website, L2 Plan which allows your to customize very lesson plan and track outcomes, L2 Observe to aggregate lesson observation data and see trends across your school or federation, PAL which is our on-line parent programme and H Factor which is our well-being and safeguarding community audit tool.
